It is a great time to choose renewable energy. WMLP makes it easy and affordable to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, increase energy stability in NE, and provide a healthier planet for future generations. WMLP’s Renewable Energy Program is a way to reduce your carbon footprint and support the Town of Wellesley’s goal of reducing emissions by 25% by the year 2020. Currently, WMLP offers local sources of wind, water, solar, and biomass power that are all clean, reliable, and affordable.
Bringing 100% renewable energy into your home is the equivalent of taking your car off the road for nine months. That’s how much CO2 you’ll save! By signing up, you are also helping Wellesley improve its ranking in the overall percentage of customers who choose to purchase renewable energy sources. Wellesley is currently 4th in the country for percentage of enrollees.
Aside from the obvious benefits renewable energy has on the environment, New England’s economy is boosted by utilizing local sources of renewable power as well. Local renewable energy also reduces dependence on foreign and finite sources of energy.
You can choose the percentage of energy you would like to come from local renewable sources at 4 cents per kWh more than WMLP’s already low rate.
Participation Level Monthly Surcharge:
- 10% renewable: $3 per month
- 25% renewable: $7.50 per month
- 50% renewable: $15.00 per month
